Why jurisdiction matters to us
The United Kingdom has more than one legal system. A rule that applies in England and Wales may not apply in Scotland or Northern Ireland. Every article we publish carries a clear label showing which nations it applies to, and, where the position differs, we say so rather than glossing over it.
How our articles are made
Each article is written or reviewed by a named contributor, checked against the primary source — legislation, a judgment, or official guidance — and dated so you can see when the legal position was last confirmed. Where an article draws on reporting from another publisher, we say who they are and link to the original.
